Finally Friday

It is finally Friday and wouldn't you know it, the thunder and rain has started!!! In looking at radar, it looks like it might be here a while - boo-hoo!!! We have errands to run and then have to go to my MIL's tomorrow. . .long story, but goodness, I certainly hope when the time comes that I know enough to ask for help when I need it!!! That will be a tough lesson for me to learn since my dh and I seem to be the ones who help everyone else out!!!

I have had a busy day but have no idea what I have accomplished other than getting a few groceries for the weekend. I did manage to get one page scrapped so here goes :-)

And, with that I'm going to get off the computer and wait for my dh to get home so we can knock out this errand in a snap. . .but for some reason, I suspect it is going to be MUCH harder than that!!! Until next time. . .

Recovered and Semi-Recouperated

The grandkids have been safely returned to their parents. How in the WORLD did I manage two little ones less than 2 years apart??? Don't get me wrong, these kids are SSSSSOOOOO good, but it is a lot of work making sure they are entertained, fed, happy and not missing home!!! I know it is just me too, I want to make the most of the time they are here and I wear myself out. It is quiet here again. But with the weather, I have managed to get a summer cold I think. . .I'm sure the chill I feel is NOT the air conditioning (that is set to 80), don't think the sneezing is from allergies (house is closed), so I'm blaming it on a cold!!!

Since I finally got the house back in order after the kiddos left, I've been trying to get caught up on my scrapping, so sit back and hopefully enjoy :-)

First up a few patriotic pages just in time for the 4th of July, but I think I had Memorial Day in mind when working on these :-)

Short And Sweet

Two of the grandkids are here this week for a visit. Gosh, how did I survive raising 2 kids less than 2 years apart??? These two are 4 years apart and it seems like I'm constantly exhausted!!! In fact, my nice, tidy house is starting to remind me of the olden days when there were dirty dishes in the sink in the morning when I got up!!! But, when they are here I just don't do things the same as when they are not here. . .for example, yesterday we made brownies and I let the kiddos pick their favorite things to put on top. . .we had Oreo cookies crumbled up and mixed inside the brownies. Then the 2-year old picked M&M's as his topping and the 6-year old picked marshmallows!!! Now, normally we wouldn't have brownies decked out like that, but I have to admit they were pretty tasty!!! Today we are going to watch a couple of their favorite movies and hopefully they will cooperate and let me get the camera out and take some photos!!! I can only hope on that one!!! The older they get, the more picky they become about how I utilize their time!!!

With two little visitors this week, my time is somewhat limited, but I did manage to get 1 page created during naptime (theirs not mine - LOL!!!). But here goes!!!

This was created using various items from Snickerdoodle Designs

And, with that I'm outta here. . .can hear kiddos starting to stir downstairs which can only mean that the day is about to begin. . .it will certainly seem a lot quieter when they go back home tomorrow morning!!! Until next time. . .

OOPS and Whoopee!!!

Well, the "OOPS" part comes because I forgot a page!!! The "Whoopee" part is because starting tomorrow I will have 2 young houseguests for a few days!!! And with one of the two being, well, 2, that will really limit my computer time until the weekend!!! I have big plans and a good portion of that involves staying COOL!!! It is extremely hot here suddenly - so glad we did the amusement park on Sunday before this mini-heat wave started!!!

Anyway, here's that missing page :-)

And with that I'm going to go get some chores done so when the visitors are here I can just hang out with them!!! Until next time. . .

Survived!!!

I survived the weekend and am in MUCH better shape than I thought I would be!!! This weekend, my youngest daughter and her family came down and we all went together to our oldest daughter's for a visit and some fun times. Started with a dance recital for a very excited six-year old on Saturday!!! I have to say, I think she did an awesome job!!! Now, I've sat through and worked my share of dance recitals and I can tell when a dancer enjoys herself. . .my granddaughter seemed to enjoy the entire experience. She had requested that I do her hair and makeup (OK, I have had 15 years of experience doing recital hair). I had so much fun curling her hair. . .and she was so good and patient through the whole process. Then came the makeup and she was equally as good. . .my other granddaughter who is 4 wanted makeup too and thankfully I had brought my makeup bag and had very light and natural stuff that I could use for her. . .the only glitch was her Mom didn't want red stage lipstick and she knew the difference!!! Good old Grandma though had some sparkly light lipstick and with that granddaughter, sparkles trump EVERYTHING!!! So we were good.

After the recital, we went to the hotel. Neither girl has ever been in a hotel, so we invited the 6-year old to spend the night with us. Those two little girls had a great time!!! They got to swim and hang out together. . .not something they get to do very often!!!

On Sunday, we took 3 families to Six Flags. I was worried that it was going to rain - in fact, we had a huge downpour while we were still at the hotel. But it quit and before we left it was starting to clear. However, the forecast still had rain in it for the afternoon. But that didn't concern me too much because I figured with 3 kids ranging in age from 6 to 2 that we'd be gone by 2 in the afternoon!!! I told the 4-year old as we were driving to look for the park and if she saw anything that looked like Six Flags she should let me know. . .we drove past a strip mall and she shouts "I see ONE flag!!!". Sure enough, there was a single US flag!!! Too funny!!!

I was so surprised, it seemed like everyone had a great time!!! The kids liked the rides, but I was shocked that the 4-year old liked rides that I thought she'd even be reluctant to try!!! Our grandson only wanted to ride trains, but he LOVES his trains and thinks that Amtrack is just the best thing on earth!!! Everyone was having a great time and we ended up staying until 5!!! What a shock to me!!! We got back to our house and then the daughter who rode with us still had a 1-1/2 hour drive. But, everyone got back home safe and sound. Sure hope everyone got a good night's sleep!!! I know I sure did!!!

With trying to get ready for the weekend, I forgot to share a couple of pages with you so here goes. . . .

These were created using a kit by Crazy 4 Monograms. The name suggests that it is a Father's Day themed page, but it is so much more versatile!!! I thought it made some super cute pages for our grandson!!!

And, with that I'm outta here to go get some groceries and work on uploading all the photos I took over the weekend!!! Until next time. . .

Fun Times Friday

Today is one of those days just full of anticipation!!! Our youngest daughter will come for a visit and the weekend holds a dance recital and the grandkids' first trip to a ginormous amusement park!!! I am sssssoooo excited!!! I have all of my housework done and could hardly sleep last night which means I'm exhausted today and then with the big weekend I just KNOW I will be out of it come Monday!!! So, I had better post the pages I have created this week. . .right!!!

First up, how about these pages. As the Mom of two dancers with the second generation of dancers already performing, to me music just means dance!!! I have to admit, I "chair dance" several times a day!!!

Today Is Today

Today is Tuesday and there isn't much more to say about that!!! Nothing spectacularly good or bad going on today. . .it is just "a day". It is cold and rainy but thankfully we aren't having a downpour like we did over the weekend. . .by some accounts, we had 5+ inches of rain in a little over 3 days. Today's rain seems more like a cold drizzle - so much so that I'm thinking about getting my sweatshirt on to take the chill off a bit!!!

With the weather, I have been busy scrapping a bit so here goes.

What Day Is Today???

Goodness, this is one of those weeks when I didn't have much planned at all. . .then suddenly it filled up!!! Over the weekend we learned of a death in the family, so and out of town visitation and funeral have been added. Then yesterday I got a call from our daughter, she needs me to bring her something on Wednesday, so there's another out of town trip. I have an appointment on Friday and have blocked out the weekend because I anticipate being a bit under the weather after the appointment. So, that leaves Thursday to get everything done in 1 day that I usually take 4 or 5 days to do. PLUS, I got new RAM to put in my computer and I really want to get that done on Thursday too. . .YIKES!!!

With the heat and intermittent storms, I have been doing a bit of scrapping lately, so here goes. . .

First up, I love the elegance of these pages!!!

And, I have been playing around again with Snickerdoodle Designs' newest set of Border Buddies. . .I have been using her Irish Lace styles, and on the first page, altered the color of the lace to match the kit colors. It was easy peasy to do. . .after applying the style, I went into the style on the layer I wanted to change and altered the Color Overlay option!!! Wella!!!
