Freaky Friday

Yesterday was a fairly successful day!!! While I did not get my laundry done, I did get a big chunk of Christmas shopping done for the grandkids. . .and I got a descent start on the calendars and scrapbooks for my daughters. I had planned on doing that stuff today (Friday), but the weather forecast changed drastically and includes not only a freeze warning, but a chance of SNOW!!! I find it best to stay home during that first snowfall. . .folks forget how to drive on the stuff!!! It is hard to believe it was 80-degrees a couple of days ago!!!

Hope you are all getting your shopping carts loaded up for DSD. . .I have a cart pending at one store and am waiting on the new releases from another. I am usually gone for DSD so it is pretty low-key for me. I did manage to get a challenge done, but haven't posted it yet. . .will do that later today. But as far as my scrapping goes, I did manage to get a couple of heritage pages done. . .

Wonderful Wednesday

Goodness, this is shaping up to be a good day. . .the temperatures seem much cooler than the last few days. I don't EVER recall wearing shorts this late in October!!! But tonight there is a chance of frost and by Saturday the HIGH is going to be in the low to mid 40's!!! Those leaves will be falling fast in another day or so!!!

I have been super busy scrapping lately, so sit back and hopefully enjoy. First up is the monthly mega kit from Digital Scrapbooking Studio. This is a great way to sample the designer's work there!!!

Back To My Normal

What a fun and busy weekend. Started on Friday when I got to spend the day with one of the granddaughters!!! She loves to play tic tac toe with Grandma and she is getting pretty good at it too!!! Then on Saturday we went to visit the other set of grandkids. Went to a soccer practice for the 3-year old grandson, then celebrated his birthday at a park and moved on to a soccer match for the 6-year old granddaughter. It was so much fun, but can I just say it was in the upper 40's when we left in the wee hours on Saturday. . .by the time we were sitting outside at the soccer game, it was 83-degrees!!! Makes it very hard to dress when the weather is like this. I don't think I can remember it being this hot this late in the fall. . .the temperature here today is supposed to be in the low 80's. There have been times in the past when I have had my furnace on by this date!!!

My major goals for this week is to clean the house really well which might even mean washing curtains. I would like to get some of the work done before Thanksgiving. I also want to get the bulk of the Christmas shopping done for the grandkids and start sorting through the scrapbook pages from this year to get the Christmas scrapbooks started. Then I would LOVE to get those calendars finished, but don't know if that will happen or not :-) I do have lofty goals for the week so we will see how it goes.

I have been doing a bit of scrapping too so here goes. . .

Monday Monday

Made it through the weekend. . .thankfully. This was supposed to be my favorite weekend, but ended up having to go to a birthday dinner. Just have such a hard time being around those people. . .they can only speak of things in their little town and just assume that even though you have never lived there, you must surely know everyone that THEY know. . .

Finally getting around to posting a few more pages. So here goes. . .

Suddenly Saturday

I have no idea where yesterday went!!! I was busy, I remember that, but I can't recall what I actually accomplished. I know according to my "To Do" list I ran a lot of errands. I managed to pick up gifts for my MIL's birthday dinner. Oh, and I did get new house shoes!!! Mine were completely worn out. . .so bad that I tripped going down the steps the other day. . .when you fall because of shoes that are literally falling apart, it is time to get new ones :-) It is best to get them when they are on sale for 50% off AND you have a coupon for an additional 30% off!!! SCORE!!!

Here are a few pages that I got done. Have several projects in the works so there will be more to come later in the weekend hopefully. But, until then, here goes. . .

Thankful Tuesday

Well yesterday was a very interesting day. . .had a 2-year old guest for the last day and goodness did we have fun!!! Then it was time to take him back home. We had just gotten through town and in fact had just gone through the 4-way stop on the way out of town when both of our cell phone alarms went off. Yep, we were under a TORNADO WARNING!!! We are in the middle of the country and there is no place to turn around. All of a sudden the wind gets so fierce, the rain is so hard and horizontal we couldn't even see the front of the van. The van starts rocking. . .I was scared to death!!! We just kept on going at that point. . .and finally made it to a church and pulled into the parking lot. Since we had our grandson with us, it made me that much more scared. . .I could care less what happens to me, but him. . .don't want to get him hurt. We parked in the back of the church so there was a barrier between us and the storm. Finally, we decided to get going again and went another couple of miles out of the path of this thing. About 20 minutes later I looked at a website from NOAA that lists storm information. Turns out a tornado had been spotted on the ground about 4 miles south of where we were which prompted the tornado warning. Then I saw that a tornado had actually hit a part of our town. I honestly think that we were underneath the funnel cloud as it passed over the blacktop. There were trees, traffic lights and power lines down at the main intersection in town. All I can say is we were very lucky and I truly hope my dh learned a lesson!!!

Here are a couple of pages I got done before our grandson's visit, but with the server switchover at Digital Scrapbooking Studio, I'm just now getting around to posting the pages. . .
