Friday Finally

I am terribly tired today!!! I spent most of yesterday trying to get things back in order after the weekend. But, I still had a LOT of things that needed to get done and at this point, it looks like I'm not quite up to 50% done for the day. . .I have 2 hours left though and little piddly stuff that needs to get done so maybe I'll make it. . .

Trying to get caught up on my scrapping so here goes. . .

Sultry Sweaty Summertime

The humid weather continues today. There has been heavy rains in our part of the country for the past 8 or 9 days. It is not uncommon for a given location to get 5 inches of rain in 2 hours. . .all of that is creating flooding, and in these parts, LOTS of flooded corn and soybean fields. So many roads have been closed because of flooding. Thankfully, my village has missed the bulk of that, but I have farmer friends who have been affected by the deluge. At this point in the year, it is a tough decision to replant the fields once they dry out or just sit out a year. We will have corn tasseling in the area in the next week or so, so anything replanted would be significantly behind!!! I grew up on a farm and I can tell you farm life can be so very rewarding, but it can be so trying too!!!

Today is the day my new refrigerator should arrive. As I type, I'm anxiously awaiting the call from the scheduler to let me know what time it will arrive. My house seems like a wreck at the moment. I had to take everything out from underneath the sink, everything is out of the fridge. . .at least what I could salvage, since we have to shorten the cabinet over the refrigerator, everything is out of that cupboard. . .it just seems like kitchen stuff EVERYWHERE!!! I have tried to put things in laundry baskets and put them in the sunroom, but there are a few things still out on the counter and it is driving me NUTS!!!

With the week I have had, I am surprised I have gotten any scrapping done at all, but there are times, I just need to escape and right here in "Photoshop Land" seems to be my sanctuary!!! So, here goes. . .

The Saga Continues

As of this writing, I still do not have a refrigerator. . .technically the old one is still in place but I don't trust it. The temperature is ranging anywhere from 24 to 52 degrees!!! I do have soda in there and I'll use the Coffeemate, but I don't feel comfortable putting actual FOOD in there. I have found a refrigerator, but it is too tall for the area so my husband is going to get handy and trim the bottom of the cabinet and possibly have to raise the cabinet doors to get this to work. Ten years ago when we remodeled our kitchen I was assured that the cabinet height yielded a standard opening for a refrigerator. Turns out if we had moved a fake wall out 3 inches and had a shorter cabinet I could have had the "new" standard size refrigerator!!! Things change that's for sure!!!

I've been a bit frustrated and totally overwhelmed. . .between cleaning out the refrigerator and finding soupy ice cream and having things strewn all over the place because of this fiasco (there are toolboxes and tools in my kitchen, bins in the living room with things I salvaged like unopened jars of pickles and salsa and chocolate syrup), a kitty who has taken up residence in the laundry basket, things are just a bit more than I can handle at the moment!!! I will certainly be glad when life is back to normal around here. . .and if that wasn't enough, I have been having traveling joint pain (probably from stress) and today I am sneezing like nobody's business!!!

But I did do a little bit of scrapping so here goes.

Trying Tuesday

You know it is gonna be a rough day when you wake up and several joints just hurt. I have NO idea what I did to my ankle. . .but then again, with Lupus, you don't necessarily have to do anything to have joint pain. Then there are those thumbs. . .my thumb joints hurt which makes it really hard to grab anything. THEN, there is that refrigerator. I think today I'll take a field trip to look into a new fridge. This thing either freezes everything or like today, things in the freezer part are starting to thaw. . .and ice, there has been no new ice for days now!!! About 3 weeks after we got this refrigerator maybe 18 years ago, it just completely quit working. The manufacturer actually sent us a payment to replace the lost food. The technicians have been out several times with this thing and I'm just tired of it!!! The fridge that we brought back from Mom's several years ago works better than this thing ever did!!!

So, I am determined to make the best of the day. . .maybe if I concentrate on the positive the negative will just kind of go away on its own. . .and one of the positives is scrapping!!! Don't have much, but here's what I do have. . .

And, with that I am outta here to go clean out that fridge that is starting to stink and research new ones. I have found one in town that can be delivered in the next day or so. . .otherwise I'll be waiting a couple of weeks and that just doesn't seem like something I want to do with 90-degree temperatures!!! Until next time. . .

Muggy Monday

All weekend we had scattered rain around the area. . .some places got as much as 5 inches of rain. We got considerably less than that!!! But we got just enough that it is unbearably humid!!! It is so muggy and this kind of weather just hurts to breathe so for me, I'll be staying indoors today thank you very much!!! The sun is not my friend. . .it literally triggers my over-active immune system and nothing good can come of that!!!

So, I will just keep myself busy scrapping and doing a couple of little craft projects that I have wanted to do for a while now!!! So, here goes on the scrapping!!!

Weekend Weather

This seems to have been a very S-L-O-W week for me. Nothing exciting except a trip to visit our granddaughter while her Dad took their kitty for a checkup. About 2 years ago, Bella was diagnosed with a very aggressive and often fatal form of cancer in her shoulder - the result of a vaccine given when she was a kitten (insist their vaccines be given in the hindquarter). Thankfully, our daughter attended an area university with a veterinarian school and they sought help from there. Initially they removed the tumor and gave her a round of chemo. . .but the cancer returned so they decided to take more drastic measures. This time, they removed a fair amount of the cat's shoulder and felt they had gotten it all. This is a teaching hospital and even has a feline oncology group. . .this coupled with how much they fell in love with Bella helped her get great care. When they did her checkup this week, she is still cancer free!!!

Other than that, it has gotten very hot here. . .there are storms in the forecast for the weekend but it doesn't look like that is going to cool the temperatures down all that much. Since it is hot and I'm regrouping, I have spent some time scrapping so here goes. . .
