Wonderful Weekend

Today looks like a wonderful day, but it sure is warming up again. . .and there are storms in the forecast for this afternoon and tonight.

I am trying to get caught up on some scrapping and it occurred to me that I really do need to get cracking on these calendars and Christmas scrapbook gifts!!! So, here are a few little things I have done. . .

Finally, this month theStudio has their Birthday Bash celebration. One of the components of that is the Next Designer Contest. Each participant creates a mini and posts the preview and download links in the gallery. Those minis are free!!! I picked up this little mini freebie and made a page. . .I downloaded a couple of other minis and hope to get some done. There is also a place where you can vote for your favorite mini here - Here's a page I created using one of the mini freebies!!!

Another Week. . .

Hopefully this week will be a little less active than last week!!! It seemed like I was constantly on the go and didn't get much done, hope when there is less going on I can actually feel like I am accomplishing something!!!

There has been a definite nip in the air the past few days so fall is fast approaching!!! Last week I saw several fields of corn that had been harvested. . .there is something about seeing those freshly harvested fields that just brings back so many memories of my childhood!!! Fall was always a busy time for us. . .crops had to be harvested, cattle tended, cows milked, garden vegetables to can and freeze, butchering to do. . .all in preparation for a winter on the farm. We lived in a valley on a red gravel road and when bad weather rolled in, it was impossible to go anywhere. The nearest town was 30 minutes away and trips there only happened once every couple of weeks. Fast forward to today when it seems like I'm running to "town" (i.e. WalMart) every day!!!

Anyway, with fall around the corner, I scrapped a couple of "fallish" pages. First up. . .

Fast Week

What a rollercoaster week!!! Cool beginning, hot middle and now more seasonable end!!! It has been a super busy week, but it seems like I haven't accomplished anything!!! Hopefully I can turn that around today. . .the last day of the week!!! Anyway, with the cooler temperatures, I have been doing a fair amount of scrapping so here goes. . .

Finally Fallish

Well, it is September 1st which in my book means it is fall. Now, if the weather would just cooperate and bring crisp, cool (not cold) mornings!!! Our forecast today is "Heavy Thunderstorms". . .now, I have never seen the term "Heavy Thunderstorms" in the forecast before!!! I have seen them described as "Strong", so not sure what is in store for us today. I wanted to use the smoker yesterday and make a hunk of meat, but there was rain in the forecast and the last thing I want is a wet smoker!!! So I went with Plan B and had a hunk of meat that I cooked indoors. I had made a couple of salads the day before so today we have leftovers and it is like a vacation day for me now :-)

I have been doing a little bit of scrapping of late too so here goes. . .first up a delightful page for a little boy's special celebration or just a generic boy-themed page.
