Summer - Part 3

Goodness, it is August already!!! Where did the summer go??? One of the grandkids has gotten their room assignment for the year, the other two have already gotten their school supplies!!! In just 2 short weeks all 3 will be back in school!!! I remember when I was a kid, Memorial Day was the beginning of summer and the day after Labor Day was the start of the school year. But then, we didn't have semester exams either. . .I feel bad for some of the students in my area because there is no air conditioning in many of the elementary schools so the district ends up having shorter class days because of the heat.

But with the end of summer, the beginning of fall can't be too far behind!!! Yesterday I had a strong craving for chili!!! That is something we don't have here during the summer months, so before long, I'm going to sneak that into the weekly menu!!! I do love chili!!!

I have managed to scrap a couple of pages so here goes. . . Created using Created using Created using Created using Created using Created using And, with that I am outta here!!! Until next time. . .

What!!!

My goodness, I typed today's date into my spreadsheet this morning and it hit me that July is just moving along!!! I was shocked yesterday that the stores here are fully into "back to school" mode!!! It seems like when I was a kid this time of year meant that summer was half over!!! My daughter who is a high school guidance counselor will be back to work next week!!! Crazy!!! Seems like sometimes kids don't have time to just be kids!!!

It is going to be a scorcher here today and we have a chance of strong storms later in the afternoon. . .one of the hazards of summer in the midwest!!! Even as busy as I have been, I have managed to get a little scrapping done so here goes. . . One Day At A Time

This has been a pretty stressful time. . .yesterday was my husband's last day of work after over 43 years he took an early retirement package because his department was outsourced to an off-shore company. Our daughter had one more medical test. . .still waiting on the results of that. Our granddaughter is in the midst of an audition. My husband is in "concession stand" mode so I think the reality of retirement wont sink in until the later part of the week. I'm holding it together and wondering how my world is going to change with someone home all day!!!

And, I've been super busy so my scrapping time is starting to suffer a bit, but I do have some things to share today. . .so here goes. . . Created using Created using

Created using Created using Created using And, with that I am outta here to go do some much needed chores!!! Here's hoping you all have a fun and safe 4th!!! Until next time. . .
