Holiday Season - Part 2!!!

Well, Thanksgiving is over, Black Friday is in full swing and I'm gearing up for the next phase of the holiday season. My goal for the weekend is to get the tree decorated and get the presents wrapped. Next weekend is the first of two weekend of Nutcracker performances and I'm excited about those. For one granddaughter, this will be her 7th production and for the other, this will be her first. I'm not missing those!!! Until then, I'll finish up the scrapbooks and calendars for the girls and hopefully get some relaxing time in :-) I've managed to do a bit of scrapping this week so here goes. . .

Gearing Up For Turkey

I've been gearing up for Turkey Day for a week or so. Let me tell you, procuring that bird was the hardest thing!!! At one point, the only turkeys in the freezer section were birds where the packaging had been pretty much ripped to shreds. Now, I usually opt for a fresh turkey, but there were none to be had. I finally got a turkey which is much larger than I need, but I figure I'll freeze what we don't eat and we can have turkey salad sandwiches and turkey tetrazzini into the first of the year. Again this year, there will only be the two of us. Both of our granddaughters have Nutcracker performances the first two weekends in December and I would much rather go to that than have everyone together for Thanksgiving. We will all be together the following weekend and watching ballet on stage is way better than eating turkey in my mind. . .and since both of our daughters and granddaughters are dancers, I'm pretty sure they would agree. However, at this point I'm trying to figure out when we can get together for Christmas. That in and of itself is no small feat. . .I'm not fond of weekend Christmas dates and it seems like everyone goes back to school on January 3rd this year!!! So the window of opportunity is very, very small this year!!!

I continue to be busy working on Christmas gifts so I only have a couple of things to share today so here goes. . . Created using Created using That's a wrap for today - told you it would be a short list - LOL!!! Until next time. . .

Snow. . .Say It Ain't So!!!

To add insult to injury. . .not only did the time change this week (it is dark just after 4:30 now) but we have snow in the forecast for the weekend!!! UGH!!! This week, I'm hoping to get the Christmas scrapbooks done for the most part. . .I'll be in a holding pattern for photos from two different productions of the Nutcracker, but I do want to have everything in place so after I get those, I can plop in the photos and send off the order!!! Then, since we aren't going to have a big Thanksgiving, I'm planning on having a wrapping party on Black Friday and avoiding the crowds. In my area the COVID numbers from positive cases to hospitalizations to deaths are creeping up again. It seems like the numbers go down and then people let their guard down and the numbers go back up. One of my mottos throughout life has been everything in moderation but that seems lost on people now. Anyway, I've done a little scrapping this week so here goes. . . Nice November Day

It is just a nice November day today. . .there is a little chill in the air and the leaves are starting to change just a tad. While some of the trees have a nice color, most are a dull, dingy shade of brown, nothing spectacular to photograph - UGH!!!

This week I have had a little more time to devote to scrapping so here goes. . . Created using Created using Created using Created using Created using And, that about takes care of it for me this week!!! Until next time. . .

Finally Fallish

Around here we have had a couple of "fallish" days so some of the trees are starting to get a little color. Having said that though, the colors just don't seem as vibrant as they have in the past. The weather has been a real roller coaster this summer though and while the temperatures were in the mid-40's last night, by next weekend it is supposed to be in the lower 80's again!!! No wonder the trees have no idea what is going on!!! I do hope to have one day though were I can take a daytrip through the country with me, my camera and a sack lunch!!! I won't need a map until time to figure out how to get home - LOL!!! I have done a little scrapping this week while doing cleaning and working on Christmas gifts so here goes. . .

When you purchase the mini, you have no idea which designer you are going to get so if you love a good mystery, this is for you. Created using And, that does it for me this week!!! Until next time. . .

Wistful Weekend!!!

This is going to be a laid back kind of weekend. We are out of town at our daughter's and really have no big plans. I don't know about you, but every now and again, that is kind of nice to have!!! I have done a little bit of scrapping, and I mean just a little bit. For the most part I've been focused on Christmas gifts and working on that. My goal every year is to be stree-free come November. . .some years I can make that happen and others, not so much. But, here are the things I've created this week. . .
