Wintry Week!!!

Well, this has been a rollercoaster week!!! On Tuesday we had temperatures in the 50's, then by Tuesday night, we had several hours of sleet. . .it was so loud I couldn't sleep!!! By Wednesday it had turned to snow and we got several inches. There was a brief break and round two started. That lasted all day on Thursday. Traveling in this area is NOT a good idea even though the snow stopped over 12 hours ago. Once the snow stopped, the wind started!!! On Facebook, it seems like every other post is about parts of the area interstates closed because of multiple jacknifed trucks! Now, I typically get groceries on Thursday, but I moved my curbside pickup to Tuesday because of the impending weather. I scheduled my pickup for 9 am and it was CRAZY!!! For the second week in a row, no coffee!!! I always go in to buy my meat and produce. The meat case was nearly empty. I always use self-checkout to avoid people but the lines were HUGE!!! Thankfully one of my old students is a checker and was working this morning. For some reason, nobody was using the checkers so she came over and told me to go to her lane so I didn't have to wait!!! I then went to another grocery store to get meat. I walked in and saw the line. . .I walked right back out!!! At this point I am so thankful that I don't have to go out!!! I have plenty of food and supplies and I did finally get some coffee. I know it is supposed to be super cold for the next week or so!!! Looks like winter FINALLY got here!!!

Suddenly Snow

WOW, we have snow!!! This is the latest I have ever seen the first snow in these parts!!! And, it is really only a dusting, but we had one yesterday and it melted throughout the day. Then today we have more snow. With the snow yesterday the wildlife returned to my yard. . .cardinals, blue jays and deer!!! I was in heaven!!! Today I went out to do my curbisde pickups and at one point it was snowing so hard I could barely see!!! This coming week we actaully have "inches" of snow in the forecast!!! Having said that, it must be true because one of the items I ordered for pickup was coffee and the store was out!!!

I've been a bit under the weather this week so I haven't had a creative week, but did manage to get a couple of pages done so here goes. . . Created using Created using And that does it for me this week. . .until next time. . .

January Deep Freeze

My goodness, but it is super cold here!!! I think our high yesterday was 11-degrees!!! But we have still not had a measurable snow this winter and that is a tad concerning. Our lawn is really starting to turn brown, but with temperatures this low, you just can't go out and water the lawn!!! That would make some awesome ice sculptures I think!!! Halfway Through January

Well, this month is flying by. . .Weems like just yesterday it was New Years and yesterday I actually looked up to see when Easter was this year!!! Not sure why I did that because so far we haven't even had snow yet!!! We did have some ice last week and there is snow in the forecast for tonight and tomorrow. . .maybe. The forecast is still up in the air. I have taken a couple of days just to regroup and do some organizing so here's what I have to share this week. . . Brrrrr!

Well, it finally got cold here. . .the high today is going to be around 13-degrees F. That's a long way from the high in the mid-60's last week!!! Needless to say, I have chili on the menu for the weekend. . .you can't beat chili and grilled cheese when it is cold outside. Today I'm going to venture out and do a couple of curbside pickups and then I'll be set for another week!!! So bring it on winter!!! Between the cold and the COVID surge, I'm as snug as a bug in a rug and I'm so thankful for curbside pickups!!!

Ringing In 2022

All I can say is 2021 flew by!!! I remember a year ago thinking that 2021 had to be a lot better than 2020 right? And here we are. . .around here, the hospital situation is dire. A friend of a friend was having chest pain and difficulty breathing so his son took him to the area hospital. There wasn't even room in the ER for him. They told him to drive over an hour and take him to a different city, then the ER doctor went in and got some oxygen for him. When he returned, he said to scrap that idea because there were no beds their either. He left and came back. . .said he had called am ambulance and they drove him well over 2 hours to find a hospital with a bed. He didn't have COVID, but had a serious heart issue. . .the cardiologist didn't even know how he had survived the ride to the hospital. It is dire!!! I saw a comic yesterday - is it going to be 2022 or 2020-too? Food for thought!!!

The holidays were very low-key here and since all the calendars and scrapbooks were finished, ordered and now delivered, I'm taking a wee bit of a break, but I have managed to do a couple of pages so here goes. . .
