Goodness it is a glorious day here!!! The sun is shining, the temperatures are really cool and I have my windows opened!!! Later this week it is going to really heat up again and there is a threat of storms this weekend. So, at least for today, I am going to enjoy this weather!!!

Happy Mother's Day!!!
I hope everyone has a wonderful Mother's Day. . .This is one of those bittersweet days for me. Looking back over the years, I deeply regret all of the Mother Days that I spent with my mother-in-law rather than my own Mother. My Mom never, ever said anything and for the first few years after I lost my Mom and before my girls became mothers, this day was so full of remorse. But, as my girls became mothers, I began to understand my Mom's take on the whole Mother's Day thing. My Mom and I would call each other all the time. . .I talk to my girls a lot too and I am sure they have NO idea how my heart leaps when I hear their ringtone on the phone. I don't need a single day in the year to know that I matter to them. . .each phone call tells me that!!! I understand that the girls are super busy with their own families and that is the way it SHOULD be!!! I don't need much. . .I am sssssoooo happy on this Mother's Day that I have two girls who are grounded and have become really awesome people!!! Then, there are those grandkids. . .they are pretty awesome folks too!!! I am so thankful that I don't need much on this special day. . .I am content in knowing that my job as a Mom is complete and I happen to think I did a descent job :-) But, I certainly hope my girls have a fantastic Mother's Day - they deserve it!!!
This afternoon, my dh is going to spend the afternoon with his family. I don't need the aggravation and since it is Mother's Day, I figure that is a good excuse to not go down there. So, today is going to be "my" day. . .I am going to find a movie to watch (two years ago it was The Impossible - excellent movie for Mother's Day) and I'm going to go to the Mom and Pop Chinese place and get some yummy food!!! Yesterday I made a yummy salad for him to take down there. . .Me cooking for a hoard of people is NOT my idea of a great Mother's Day - LOLOL!!! I have to draw the line somewhere :-)
Anyway, I have been scrapping just a tad with the hot weather. . .so here goes. . .

Freaky Friday
Today has been one of "those" days already!!! My dh is gone and I thought I would work really hard yesterday and then take a mild sleeping aid last night so I could actually sleep in for one in my life. Then, last night, I get a text from my dh to give him a call at 6:30 am to wake him up. . .it suddenly becomes MY responsibility to wake HIM up. There is not a single bone in my body that will say "No" to anyone so I nixed the notion of a sleeping aid. . .and since I am uber-responsible, I woke up at 3 am to just make sure I was awake at 6:30 so I wouldn't let him down. I guess it was a good thing I woke up so early because at 5 I get a phone call from his work. . .there is a problem and they need him. At 6:30 I place the wake-up call only to get a snarky response that he had texted me 10 minutes before. Now, I am definitely NOT all about texting - when I am home, the cell phone is hardly EVER in the same room that I am in. THEN, I get a call at 7:30 from his work, one of his employees needs to talk to him. . .
But, now I am awake and dressed. . .today I have to finish the bathroom by removing the caulk messes from yesterday and then putting everything back in there. I need to go to the store to get ingredients to make a salad for my dh to take to his Mom's for Mother's Day, then I have a notebook of Photoshop notes that I want to put together. . .been wanting to do that for quite some time now. I have managed to get a bit of scrapping in so here goes. . .

What Day Is Today? Wednesday??!!??
I an honestly say I have totally lost track of time this week and it isn't gonna get any better as the week goes on!!! Yesterday I had some minor surgery and that was my focus for the first part of the week. I never know how this is going to turn out so I always prepare for the worse. . .And, I am happy to report as long as I keep up on the Tylenol for pain, I am doing OK. Now my focus shifts to tomorrow and Friday. My dh has some family stuff to do so he'll be out of town. . that gives me an opportunity to re-caulk the tub and shower!!! Now, you would think that is something that he could do, but more and more it seems like I'm getting the jobs like that. Granted, I do a better job with the caulk than he does, but it seems to me that we could go 50-50 on this job and he could at least remove the caulk. When I re-caulked the kitchen last week, the chemicals tore up my hands. . .they are a bit better so let's just get this job done.

Rainy Days And Mondays
This morning must be a tribute to the song "Rainy Days And Mondays". . .I woke up this morning to a flash of light and thunder!!! Woo-Hoo!!! Now, that might seem strange, but it has been SSSSSOOOO incredibly dry here this winter and spring!!! We just did not have the snowfall that we normally do and while there has been rain around the area, it has managed to miss us completely. So, today is kind of a welcomed relief.
It was a busy weekend. . .so many sports-related things, a dance recital and a birthday!!! Decatur has a finalist in the Kraft Hockeyville USA contest, while they didn't win the big prize, they did manage to score $75,000 for improvements to the local ice rink!!! That is a good thing!!! Sunday's NASCAR race was at my favorite venue - Talladega, baby!!! And we didn't get to watch the entire race until late last night, I was VERY happy that my favorite driver won!!! Yesterday afternoon, we went to a special little lady's first dance recital. Oh my goodness, does that child ever enjoy being on stage!!! And, she KNEW her dances!!! Good job, Sweetie!!!
And, that brings us to this week. . .lots going on and my mind is still trying to figure out which way is up. I have a little "procedure" scheduled for tomorrow and I am guessing I'll be dragging for a couple of days. Then my dh is going down to take care of his brother at the end of the week. Next weekend will be quiet for me. . .My girls will be celebrating Mother's Day, my dh will be going to his Mom's for a family gathering. And, honestly, I don't feel like I'm a part of that family and I certainly do NOT need the drama, so I am staying home, getting some Chinese food and finding a good movie to watch - that is my favorite things to do and I don't need a crowd to have a good time!!!
I have done a little bit of scrapping over the weekend and do believe with the weekend sales I have gathered all of my kits for the 2016 Christmas Calendars, so I might just start on those since the scrapping world seems just a tad slow at the moment. . .so here goes with the new creation. . .

Weekend Whimsy
It is the weekend - Woo-Hoo!!! Lots going on this weekend in addition to NSD. . .first up, seven years ago this weekend we met our first granddaughter so Happy Birthday to her!!! Eight years ago this weekend, we were getting busy for our youngest daughter's wedding so congratulations to them!!! Sunday we get to attend our 5 year old granddaughter's first dance recital. . .she is pretty excited about that. You have to keep in mind, this one is ALL about the preparations and being on stage!!!
It has been a full week too and I can't remember exactly what I have done, but do know that I now have a cooktop so I am back in business and can actually fix scrambled eggs if I want!!! Yeah!!! I did do a little scrapping, but not a whole lot so here goes. . .
