May - Week 04
Well this is "the week". . .most schools in this area will end the school year this week. Our granddaughter just finished up her elementary school days and will be in high school next year and will be taking driver's ed!!! My, how time flies!!! Our oldest granddaughter got her driver's license this week. . .feeling old. The other thing that is "big" this week. . .cicadas!!! We are smack dab in the middle of the dual emergence. The ground around our trees is completely covered with exoskeletons, they crash into the house so there are cicadas all over the sidewalk, stuck to the sunroom windows and as of yesterday they are LOUD!!! Not only do we have trees in the yard, but we have a wooded state park on 2 sides of the house. . .it is like cicada noise in stereo!!! Enough talk of bugs. Here are the layouts for the week. . .

May - Week 03
My goodness, May is just moving right along!!! In the last week the cicadas have started to arrived. It is still pretty quiet here but the temperature is supposed to be pretty high this weekend so I would imagine it is going to get noisy. We are smack dab in the middle of the area where the two different broods will emerge - both the 13 and 17 year cicadas!!! To make matters even worse, not only do we have trees in our yard, but we have a wooded state park on 2 sides of the house. I do rememeber the noise the last time the cicadas were here and that was only a single brood. Yesterday there were so many crawling up one of the trees it looked like the bark was pulsating!!! Gross. The other thing of importance were the northern lights this week. That has always been on my bucket list so I spent 2 nights on the lookout. I didn't see the amazing celestial display that others saw in the area, but I do think I saw some of them. . .at times there was a pink "haze" to the sky or a blueish-green "haze". Oh well. Other than those things, it has been a quiet week. I did start working on some of the scrapbooks for gifts later in the year so yeah!!! Having said that, it has been a rather slow week scrapbooking and I have a single layout to share with you so here goes. . .

May - Week 02
Mother's Day is coming up!!! That means time to myself for the day - yeah!!! My husband will go to his Mom's and I have long said that my girls should spend this day with their families. That leaves me to my own devices which usually means having something that I like to eat and watching the movie "The Impossible" That movie does inspire me since the mother in that movie went to all lengths to survive and find her family after the tsunami. As for me, I wouldn't have survived the tsunami much less find my family!!! I would have drowned!!! Anyway, I've managed to do some scrapping so here goes :-)

May - Week 01
It is so hard to believe that it it MAY already!!! This month is full of "happenings". . .our oldest granddaughter will turn 16, our youngest granddaughter will become a high school freshman and our grandson will start his track season. Not to mention the weather. . .the temperature tomorrow will be approaching 90-degrees which is prompting me to go ahead and plant my herbs a week earlier than normal. School will be out soon, road construction is well underway in these parts. . .I can't get anywhere without running into construction and detours!!! It is a crazy month for sure. I have managed to do a bit of scrapping so here goes. . .
