I have managed to do a little bit of scrapping this week, but my week was so fragmented!!! So, here goes. . .

September Slipping

Goodness, September seems to be slipping away!!! It is still super hot here, but harvest has started so fall can't be far away!!! We got done with our busy weekend and now I'm just tired!!! And, with the heat, it is good that there are leftovers in the refrigerator so I don't have to cook today!!! In another couple of months, it will be snowing so there's that. I've been busy this week doing a little scrapping, and some Christmas work too!!! So here goes. . . Special Weekend

This weekend is going to be special in so many ways. . .All week I've been having flashbacks to the 9/11 from 20 years ago. I can remember exactly what I was doing when I heard about the first airplane. That was surely an accident right, then the second plane hit. There was no question we were under attack. . .when the first tower fell, I remember feeling the breath being sucked from my body. . .one of my co-workers was supposed to fly out of Newark that morning. Nobody could get in touch with him, so it was incredibly tense. We found out the next day that he took an earlier flight and when things happened, his flight landed and he ended up having to drive the rest of the way home, thank goodness!!! Then, fastforward exactly 8 years later, and 9/11 would be the day our youngest granddaughter was born. I'm not sure she realizes the enormity of loss associated with her birthday, but one day she and I will no doubt have a conversation. . .I was born on an anniversary of Pearl Harbor, another defining moment in our country's history.

I am looking forward to this weekend. Our granddaughter has always loved taking trips to the apple orchard for her birthday, but again this year, she is going to have to sit this one out. Truth be told, she has probably just about aged out of the activities there, but she holds tradition in high regards. Instead, we are going to make a "run" to the orchard to pick up some goodies that she can have. They have curbside pickup so that will work out well. Then we will drop those things off at their house and spend a bit of time with the birthday girl. I'm not sure how she will be feeling because her day is going to be busy before we get there. First, she is getting her first COVID vaccine. . .that is one thing that she wanted for her birthday. She is so aware that her Mom is at risk and wants to do her part to keep her safe. Then, she has dance class. . .and will get to eat in town before she comes home.

It has been busy here, but I have managed to get a few pages scrapped so here goes. . . Created using Created using Thesee were created using And, I am continuing to work with minis!!! I am really enjoying the challenge of using a small set of pieces. . .it is so much fun and really exciting to do!!!

Suddenly September

For a year without a plethera of activities and memories, this year is slipping away so quickly!!! It is hard for me to believe that it is September already. . .but then again, I've been working on Christmas gifts and will actually have the first two delivered to my house today!!! Around here the kids are settled back in school, but with COVID some students have already pivoted from in person learning after one week to virtual, so many high school football games have been canceled to the high quarantine rate in the schools. I can't imagine what the parents are going through not knowing from one day to the next what to expect.

The first of the month brings new layouts so here goes. . . Created using Created using Created using Created using Created using And, that is a wrap for me today. . .until next time. . .
