Lockdown Legacy

We are only about five days into our official lockdown, but to be honest, my husband and I have been living the life of recluses for close to two weeks now. Today or tomorrow I need to venture out and get a few groceries and while I have sworn I would never use the store pick-up option, I am seriously considering going that route. I would like to go in and pick out my own meat so that might be an option. And, just to add insult to injury here, it has been gloomy the entire week. . .we have had snow, rain and basically all around grey days!!! Yesterday the sun came out for like 10 minutes and the cat was walking into the sunroom as the sunspot was on the floor, I don't know if it scared her or what, but she jumped over it and then took off running!!! I think she has forgotten what the sun is like!!! Now fast forward to Saturday and we have been warned of severe storms for several days now. . .just what we need with everything else going on. . .

With all this spare time, you'd think I would have a ton of pages to share with you, but honestly a lot of time has been spent doing some long-term planning so we can weather this pandemic with as little disruption as possible. So I don't have as many pages as I had hoped, but here goes. . . Created using Created using Created using Created using And I think that is a wrap for me this week!!! Until next time stay safe. . .

New Reality

I have to say that never in a million years did I ever imagine I'd be living through this pandemic. My parents were part of the Great Depression and I grew up with stories of that. It no doubt shaped my life. What strikes me about all of this is it seems so "sudden". Today, our state goes on lockdown. . .and a person with an immunosuppressive disorder, I'm very cognizant of what can happen so I do appreciate the actions our governor took yesterday. We did go out yesterday and got a few items. . .after nearly a week, we were able to find toilet paper so that was a plus. Our grocery store was out of most everything. . .no meat, no flour, no yeast (I could make my own bread if necessary, but have to have the ingredients). I stocked up on cat food and litter so she is good for a while. We also picked up things for a few home projects that we had wanted to do so my dh will have something to do other than watch the news all day. And I do want to say I haven't been a fan of our governor, but in these trying times, he is stepping up and I do believe he has the best interests of the citizens in mind as he is dealing with this. . . Most of the week has been spent worrying about one daughter getting home safely and the other daughter whose dh works in a hospital and is considered essential. Then there are the preparations necessary for staying home for an extended period of time so my scrapping has been limited this week so here goes. . .my one regret is not making it to the library before it closed earlier this week!!! Created using Created using Told you it was a short week!!! Stay safe and enjoy this time with your family. . .until next time. . .

Spring Has Sprung. . .For Now

At this moment, it seems like spring has sprung!!! The time changed over the weekend so we have bits of daylight at 7 pm!!! And, the weather is warmer and we have actually had spring showers for the past two days!!! But I'm not getting my hopes up because there is snow in the forecast for this weekend!!!

I've been doing a bit of scrapping so here goes. . . Created using Created using Created using Created using Created using Created using And, with that I am outta here. . .until next time. . .

Woo-Hoo!!! More Daylight!!!

Where I live, the time changes twice a year. . .it is horrible during the winter months because it gets dark around 4:30 in the afternoon. This weekend, the time changes so now it will be daylight much later!!! I personally like to have sunshine at the end of the day rather than at the beginning of the day. In my opinion this whole time change "thing" is just stupidity!!! My Dad did not change our clocks and with good reason. I lived on a dairy farm and he absolutely REFUSED to get up at 3:30 in the morning to milk those cows!!! The cows had a "body clock" and they knew each day when to be up at the gate to be milked and that dang clock didn't mean a thing to them. So my entire early live was spend trying to figure out if the "time" was "their time" or "our time"!!! I say leave the time alone as long as I have daylight after 4:30 in the afternoon!!!

It has been a wild week for me, but I have managed to get some scrapping done so here goes. . . Created using Created using Created using Created using Created using And, with that I am outta here to go enjoy some of this sunshine!!! Until next time. . .

March: Lion Or Lamb

Well, as I'm sitting here starting the blog for the week, we are under a winter storm watch and are expecting up to 6 inches of snow. . .that is after the 1-inch of rain last night, but I digress. Oh, wait the forecast for the weekend. . .60-degrees with storms!!! No wonder my sinuses are killing me!!! With this topsy turvy weather, what better way to pass the time than scrapping so here goes. . . Created using Created using Created using Created using Created using Created using Created using Created using And, with that I am outta here to go enjoy the day!!! March has certainly come in like a lamb this year!!! Until next time. . .
