Another Winter Weather Warning Weekend

Yep, for the second weekend in a row, we are under a winter storm warning!!! I have to say I rather enjoyed last weekend. . .it was nice to just stay home and rest and relax. And, it will be nice to be able to do the same this weekend especially after the busy holiday season!!! I'll fix a pot of soup to keep us warm and then plan on reading, catching up on TV, crafting and scrapping!!! Sounds ideal to me!!! But before I do that I have a couple of layouts to share with you. . . Created using Created using Created using Created using And, with that I am outta here - it was a short week for scrapping and now I'm going to go work on that soup!!! Until next time. . .

Winter Weather Warning

Well, we are under a winter weather warning. . .Winter Storm Gia is moving in later today. In anticipation of the weather, our daughter's school and the grandkids' school both have early dismissal. They seem to be in the bulls-eye of the weather and we are on the cusp. Depending on the weather source we are getting 3-5 inches or 7-9 inches of snow. . .that seems to be a huge variance to me!!! But, either way, I think I'm planning on a low-key weekend at home. For the first time in forever we are going to miss our granddaughter's piano recital, but honestly at this point, I think that might be in jeopardy because they have snow in the forecast too!!!

This is my first week back to "normal" but not really. . .our daughter had a medical test on Tuesday that caused concern for me and my husband had surgery yesterday, so not really a typical week just yet. . .maybe next week. Nonetheless, I am kind of looking forward to a quiet weekend at home!!!

I am slowly getting back into scrapping mode so here goes. . . Created using Created using Created using And, with that I am outta here to go have a peaceful, relaxing weekend with the softly falling snow!!! Until next time. . .

New Year, New Plans

Well, here it is a new year - Happy New Year!!! I have lofty plans for the year so we will see how that works out. I plan to switch browsers once I figure out how to convert my bookmarks. I have used Internet Explorer for years and when I switched to Windows 10, I decided to bite the bullet and use Microsoft Edge. But now I find I want a full-functioning browser and not one that continually regresses so I do plan to switch. At some point I would also like to switch blog services. . .for the life of me I can't figure out an error message I am getting and it is frustrating me to no end. . .

But, before I start those ventures, I plan to spend this first week with my granddaughter, get caught up on life after all the Holiday Hoopla, and get back into scrapping. I am determined to NOT wait until the last minute for the 2020 digital gifts this year!!! Having said that, I have some layouts to share with you so here goes. . . Created using Created using Created using Created using Created using And with that I am outta here. . .today I'm cleaning the house and maybe, just maybe organizing my desk a bit better!!! Until next time. . .

The Final Countdown

OK, I know some of you are going to read this and think that I am gearing up for New Years, but nope, our Christmas celebration is this Sunday!!! I have a few last minute gift arrivals to wrap, another trip to the grocery store and a granddaughter to entertain today. . .then tomorrow is full-on cook til I drop day!!! I am hoping that I can have everything squared away so Sunday I can just throw stuff in the oven and enjoy being with everyone. We'll see how that goes!!! We don't have a typical "Christmas Dinner" because at this point folks are pretty much done with holiday fare. . .instead years ago on Super Bowl Sunday we started a tradition of "Junk Food Day" which is just a whole bunch of finger foods and fix it yourself stuff. When I asked the girls years ago if they wanted ham or turkey for Christmas or if they wanted just to go the Junk Food Day route since they are grown and out of the house now with their own Super Bowl festivities, they wholeheartedly replied they wanted JUNK FOOD DAY!!! And now, my grandkids are vested in the notion of nothing but junk food for an entire day. Now, Junk Food doesn't have to be unhealthy. . .this year we are having Carnitas with homemade Salsa, Guac, and Salsa Verde. Along with that will be homemade Italian Beef, a veggie plate, a fruit plate, garlic lime wings and a potato skins bar. I always make some kind of holiday dessert for the kiddos too. The challenge for me now is to work around food allergies and I think I have done it this year. . .maybe the exception will be the Italian Beef because one of the ingredients for that has sulfites in it and we really do NOT want an epi-pen to have to make an appearance that day!!!

With everything going on, my scrapping time has been somewhat limited, but here goes. . .

Created using Created using Created using And, you can tell that I was overwhelmed with Holiday Hoopla because I totally forgot to publish this!!! So here goes and until next time. . .
