The forecast is calling for a "few storms" later today but my foot is telling me otherwise!!! Since I broke it last year it is a good indicator of stormy weather!!! Yesterday was a super productive day, so I don't have a lot on my to do list for today so today is a "freebie". . .I can relax and do what I want!!! Our granddaughter is studying for a music theory exam (she is 10) and occasionally she will need to ask a question and I'm her "go to" for music questions. So, I got the theory workbook that she is using and my goodness, she is WAY beyond me!!! Last year her teacher had her take the exam just so she could get used to it. . .it is a proctored timed test. She was 9 at the time and by far the youngest in the group. . .I think the next youngest was going into high school. Her teacher just wanted to expose her to it and said there was no expectation that she would pass, he just wanted her to have the experience. . .when they got her exam score back, not only had she passed the exam, but she had the highest score!!! Higher than the high school kids!!!
I've been doing a little scrapping lately, but have spent more time working on those Christmas projects and I can't share those with you so here are the things I can share. . .

Mid June Already?
This summer just seems to be slipping by. . .the days though run together horribly for me. During the lockdown I try to keep busy and lately that means doing some serious deep cleaning!!! Yesterday it was the kitchen. . .and it occurred to me that I am shrinking!!! Someone should have warned me the older I get the shorter I get!!! And, climbing is much harder than it used to be but I'm pretty resourceful and figured out a way. It worked great until my kitty decided to fall asleep on the step stool that I used to get up on the chair. . .it is always something when I try to do something!!!

Time Flies
This month is just flying by!!! I had intended to have all of my challenges for the month done by now. I thought with the lockdown still in place here that was completely doable, but instead I have been squandering my time cleaning!!! And goodness, I have the bruises to prove it - LOL!!! You see, I will never ask for help. . .I don't want to be a bother to anyone so while my recently retired husband adjusts to his new normal, I try to clean quietly. . .Having said that, I have set aside a little time each day to do some scrapping so here goes. . .

Sweltering Summer.
We went from very pleasant weather to sweltering overnight!!! Earlier this week is was wonderful, I could open the windows and the cat was certainly happy because she could spend hours sitting in front of an opened window listening to the birds and watching the critters in the backyard. Yesterday when it got so hot, she simply did NOT understand why I wasn't opening that window. I was shunned for the entire day. . .but this morning she is resolute to the idea that the window won't be opened until it cools down and has been my buddy once again.

June Begins
So, here we are in JUNE!!! This year has both flown and dragged by. . .in some regards I think I have settled into the life we have now, but in other ways I am so restless. But, at least the weather has been wonderful here for the past couple of days, but that is about to change today and definitely tomorrow!!! I have been enjoying the fresh air with the windows opened, but later today it is going to heat up in a hurry!!! By tomorrow our temperatures will be in the 90's and there are storms in the forecast so summer will be here in earnest!!!
