New Beginning. . .Same Old Same Old

Here things are starting to open up a bit. Restaurants can offer outdoor dining with social distancing requirements. We are still to wear masks but more and more I'm seeing people who simply do not do it. All the while the number of cases and the death count still goes up in our area. I often think people are narcissists and only think of themselves. A mask is a small sacrifice if it can help me protect someone else. . .

I've had a busy week. . .been doing a lot of cleaning and recovery. I can clean hard one day, then the next day my body pays the price for it, then I clean again and the pattern continues. . .Lupus sometime sucks!!! Even with all the cleaning, I have managed to do a bit of shopping so here goes. . .

Quiet Week

This has been a pretty quiet week. . .I suppose the highlight was doing 13 loads of laundry in a day and a half. Our washer broke two weeks ago and with the current pandemic, I wouldn't go out to do laundry so I just let it pile up. Then, I decided to wash all the sheets AND the new fabric to make some more masks. So, we aren't dirty people, I just decided since I was on a laundry bender I'd just do a whole lot more.

I did manage to do a little scrapping so here goes. . . Created using Created using Created using Created using Created using Created using And, with that I am outta here. . .not sure what I'm going to do today, but it will be productive :-) Until next time. . .

Freezin' In May!!!

Well, I knew I shouldn't have done it, but I did it any way. . .I planted my herbs last weekend. It was nice and warm, there was rain in the forecast, and it was the first of May. . .should be OK to plant the herbs right? WRONG!!! Just got a notice from the National Weather Service that there is a Freeze Watch in effect for tomorrow morning!!! YIKES - that means I need to cover those pots tonight. . .just what I wanted to do right?

May Day!!!

As I sit here and write this, I have all sorts of thoughts. . .first of all it is a glorious day. No rain, lots of sunshine, the temperatures are warming up. It is supposed to be in the low 80's tomorrow so it almost seems like we have skipped spring altogether!!! Today is the first day of our "modified lockdown" which means for me there will be curbside service at the craft store!!! It was deemed non-essential while liquor store were essential, but I digress. It is also the first day masks are mandatory when out and about. I made 4 masks last month but I figure I need to make some more. Supplies have been really difficult to find but I have a pick-up order for interfacing today, elastic has been ordered in bulk and I was able to score 3 yards of white cotton yesterday so when that elastic finally shows up next week, I'll start that project.

Today would have been our granddaughter's Spring Ballet and tomorrow would have been her Recital. Both of those have tentatively moved to August, so I'm a little sad about that. And, this is the weekend our other granddaughter turns 12 and we will be missing that. Then, our daughter will be celebrating her wedding anniversary. I remember that day as though it was yesterday. . .I had a broken foot, but wouldn't find that out until 3 weeks later. I wore shoes to walk down the aisle, then they came off!!!

Given all of that, this will be the first weekend that I'll actually be home to have some fun for this big scrapbooking weekend!!! I am kind of looking forward to it!!!

But for now, I have some layouts to share with you - there are several since this is the beginning of the month so enjoy. . .
