September. . .if I'm being honest, this is my favorite month of the year. I like this month better than December with all the holiday hoopla and birthdays. Only November is a close second in my book. I love the sweet, cooler days towards the end of September and around these parts the harvest will start. And while I don't care for grain trucks on the roads, I do miss the smell of a harvest!!! Growing up on the farm this was the best time of year. . .school started so I got to see people my own age and I always liked harvest season. It signaled cooler days and during harvest, Mom would always have a smoked ham in the refrigerator so we would have a good meal. Now, these hams weren't just any old ham but hams that Grandpa smoked in his smokehouse. There was nothing better than that ham with plain old mashed potatoes. . .and those potatoes came from our garden. Those were the days and while I will never have the taste of that ham again, the memories will always be there. . .
Enough of that. I've been working on Christmas presents this week and I can't share those, but I've managed to also do bit of scrapping that I can share so here goes. . .
