Goodbye October

October is winding down. . .the leaves have turned and for the most part fallen to the ground. Halloween is here, but unlike past years, our lights will be off. Honestly, the past few years we have only had 3-4 families stop by as our neighborhood ages. Back in the heyday, we would have tons of kids, but times have changed. I did buy some Halloween candy though. . .I was careful to pick things that I enjoy with a cup of coffee!!! Those peanut butter cups are sure tasty with a warm cup of joe!!!

Calm Before The Storm

And I mean that literally!!! It is so nice and calm at the moment. . .yesterday our temperature was in the lower 80's and it is nice this morning so I have the windows open. By mid-afternoon, storms will have moved through, the winds will kick up and the temperature is going to drop to the lower 40's!!! So there are big changes ahead. Last night the weather forecaster acually used the "s" word - SNOW!!! Geeze!!! I don't have a lot to share today, but what I have is short and sweet so here goes. . . The Frost Is On The Pumpkin!!!

It is going to be much cooler here for the next couple of days. . .when I got up this morning we had FROST!!! I really don't like to sweat so this is MY time of the year for sure!!! With the excitement of fall and my quest to wrap up Christmas shopping, I haven't been scrapping things to share as much. . .a lot of my scrapping now is Christmas presents :-) But here is what I can share. . . October In Full Swing

WOW, it is so hard to believe that it is October already!!! In some regards, this year has just crept by, but in others, it seems to have flown by. Here, we are starting to see some fall color and that makes me so happy!!! This is my favorite time of the year. . .normally we would be taking trips to the orchard and the pumpkin patch, but most of those are closed this year. So, I think we are going to opt for a drive through the country with my camera in tow!!! We will pack a lunch and if I can find it, there is a very secluded park with a single picnic table along one of the country roads. Only October. . .And DSD Weekend!!!

October!!! This is my true beginning of autumn!!! Here it is still generally fairly warm in September so in my mind, that doesn't really count as autumn. This month, the trees will change, the air will become crisper and I'll start making soup again. . .I never make soup in the warmer months!!!
