Summer Swelter

Just in time for school, the temperature has skyrocketed here!!! I think it has been in the 90's every day this week. Then yesterday, there were storms all around us but we only had one brief downpour. . .but for over 3 hours there was seemingly a constant roll of thunder!!! It was a crazy weather day for sure!!!

Most Awesome Week

I have to admit, I haven't accomplished a whole lot this week. . .for the first time in what seems like FOREVER, I have two grandkids here for the week!!! They haven't been able to visit since all of "this" started. This week is the first time I've actually felt "robbed" by the pandemic. . .during this time, our granddaughter has become a teenager and I swear our grandson has grown nearly a foot!!! And to think this visit almost didn't happen because of the current surge. I am hopeful that this is squelched before the holidays. . .no doubt we are still going to have to be super vigilant and instead of having everyone together, we may have to do a family by family celebration, but I'm willing to do that one more year to keep everyone safe.

School Starts. . .

In this area, some schools started this week, some start next week and others start the following week. For some reason, this summer seemed super short. A few weeks ago I was looking forward to the end of summer festivals and the State Fair. But with COVID soaring, I won't be doing any of that stuff this year. . .maybe next year. For some reason, I really do miss the State Fair. I've gone there since I was a kid with 4-H projects. Still to this day I enjoy walking through the cattle barns - must be the farm girl in me. And I simply can't resist the salt water taffy!!! Goodness, I do love that stuff!!! And the honey ice cream, the orange shakeups, and a corn dog. It has been 2 years since I had a good corn dog!!! I do miss that fair food!!!

August Angst

Goodness, it occurred to me yesterday when I made my weekly trek to get groceries that there are school supplies for aisles in the store. Then I looked at the calendar and kiddos around here have 1 more week before school starts!!! For a summer that actually seemed to go by in slow motion, it certainly went by fast!!! Before you know it we will be trying to navigate the holidays once again with this stinkin' virus ramping up again. Guess this means that in the next couple of weeks I need to be focused on these Christmas calendars and scrapbooks!!! Every single year I vow that I'm not going to be rushed in November!!! I truly wonder if this year will be different. . .

I've been busy cleaning the house this week, but I've also been quite busy scrapping so sit back, here goes. . .
