Packed Day!!!

I have a super busy day today. . .and I'll be so thankful when it is over!!! Why I make so many appoints on the same day I'll never know!!! But I am hoping I can get the appointments done, maybe a haircut, run errands and get groceries. If I can accomplish that, then I am going to designate tomorrow as a "vacation day". Now I am retired, and most folks think that every day is a vacation day but I manage to fill every day to the max!!! So, if I can get everything done then I deserve a day just to do a craft or two, read a book or watch a movie!!!

Dodged Another One

Our forecast for this past weekend was ominous. . .starting Friday through today we were under a weather advisory for ice. Our daughter ended up getting a snow day on Friday because of the ice accumulation that they had. For us, it stayed just to the south of us which is fine with me. I have gone through 2 major ice storms and the thought of losing power for an extended period of time is not something I want to experience again. Back in the day our furnace had a pilot light and we could still get some heat in the house. . .with the new ignition systems, electricity is required. And while we have a generator, I'm not sure it could handle the furnace and the refrigerator and freezer.

With the storm not impacting us, I managed to get my monthly challenges done so I will share those with you. . .

Back To Normal

I finally feel like life is back to normal. . .and it only took until mid-January to get that done!!! This weekend I have some fun things planned. On Saturday I am going to a show choir competition at our local high school. Years ago, both of our daughters were in show choir and the confidence it gave them was priceless. Fast forward and I think there may be a second generation show choir member in the making!!! One of our granddaughter absolutely LOVES being on stage and performing and she has a very nice voice too. . .she is only 7 and has a few years to wait, but her school district has 80% of the students participating in either band or show choir so that is a very high percentage for such a small school!!!
