Spring???

In the span of one week we have had 8 inches of snow followed by mud. We have gone from sub-zero temperatures to 50+ degree days!!! And, when the temperature breaks that 50-degree mark, I open the windows!!! Wacky weather for February. . .can't wait to see what March holds in store for us.

There has been a lot going on here the past week so I haven't done a whole lot of scrapping, but here goes. . . Created using Created using Created using That was a short week!!! Now I'm off to do some much needed computer work!!! Until next time. . .

Woo-Hoo

Never thought I'd say "Woo-Hoo" to feeling so crappy, but that is indeed the case today!!! I got my 2nd COVID vaccine yesterday. . .have a headache and in general just feel exhausted and "out of it", but knowing that I have had the second dose when so many folks haven't gotten the first makes me feel so incredible fortunate!!! Not that much is going to change mind you, I'll still be avoiding crowds, won't be eating in a restaurant any time soon, and of course I'll continue to deal with my glasses fogging up because of the masks and my very narrow nose!!! But maybe I can see the grandkids from outside the SUV instead of sitting in the SUV and waving at them while they are on their porch!!! And, I'm seeing that local churches are offering a drive-by fish fry so I'm definitely looking forward to that!!! In fact, the very last time we went out to eat "in public" was the week before all of "this" started and we went to a fish fry at a small church about a half hour away. . .I do love a good fish fry!!!

Between the COVID vaccines this week (scheduling was tense) and the snow storm we had (we got 8 more inches of snow), it has been a busy week and I don't have a whole lot of new stuff to show, but here goes. . .

Busy, Busy Time!!!

What a busy time!!! I have so many odds and ends going on that it sometimes seems like I've tossed everything up in the air and am juggling the best I can!!! I had so many plans for the week and things beyond my control have happened and I've had to adjust. But, the good news is I was able to score an appointment for my second COVID vaccine for next week. It was just through a series of fortunate events that I was able to do that last night!!! In looking back, that was one of those unexpected things that happened this week. . .and our daughter got her second dose yesterday. I have to admit when I got the appointment confirmation I broke down and cried. I think that is the first time I've just let it go since this started!!! I have a comprised immune system and have had to be so careful. . .getting that second dose means I might be able to spend time with the grandkids that I've sorely missed this year. And, for the first time in ages, I actually slept well last night.

We have had snow and bitter cold temperatures this week so I only ventured out yesterday to get groceries. That means I have some time on my hands to scrap so here goes. . .

Fun Weekend!!!

I have to admit I'm looking forward to this weekend!!! Granted, we are supposed to have a terrible cold snap, but I am all set!!! I have my groceries, there are soups on the menu for the next week, there is football, basketball and hockey. I just finished binging Bridgerton and that means I can start a new binge and the house is all cleaned. This coming week is the start of the NASCAR season, and I'm looking forward to that. . .with the exception of the shootout which is moving from the Daytona oval to a dang road course at Daytona. Personally, that seems like a perfectly wasted use of a superspeedway, but I digress (I hate road courses with a passion). And, while I know it seems kind of weird, I may take a day to clean the vanity and medicine cabinet. . .I kind of enjoy organizing things :-)

Snowy Stretch

We have entered a bit of a snowy stretch. Last week, our forecast was for a "dusting" of snow which ended up being in excess of 8 inches. This week, we were to get a "coating" of snow and by the time it was over we had nearly 4 inches of snow!!! Not that I'm complaining, it has been incredibly dry here to the point that we are in a moderate drought according to the weather service. The snow brings all sorts of animals to my backyard. There are the birds that enjoy the bird seed, there are 3 squirrels that live in the backyard. They are hard working animals and I don't mind them at all, but their friends that only show up to eat food are in for a rude awakening when the 3 "residents" run them off!!! Then, the other night, there were six deer!!! Three were a Mom and her twins. . .the "twins" were much smaller than the rest of the deer. The other 3 change from time to time. One night, there were 3 "teenage boys". . .fairly young deer with tiny antlers. But on their last visit, the boys stayed home and there were 3 young ladies that visited. We live across the street from a wooded state park and the deer come out when their food runs low in the wood. With the last visit, the thing that cracked me up was watching our kitty see deer for the first time. We are in an elevated sunroom while we watch the critters, and I just KNOW she thinks she is way taller than those deer!!! She is so funny and has brought such joy to our lives with this pandemic!!!
