For a year that is dragging by, I am find it is slipping by so fast!!! August is nearly over. . .around here most schools have gone back to school and some, within a day or two pivoted from in-person to virtual for the first part of the year. These are crazy times for sure!!! I live in an area with a lot of univerisities within an hour and the positivity rates are increasing daily. . .so, I am resolved to do my Christmas shopping online this year. . .and I started a couple of months ago because I simply had no idea how this was going to turn out, but I had no hope for a normal Christmas. As we get into autumn, this is my favorite time of year with Thanksgiving being my absolute favorite holiday. . .pretty sure that won't be our traditional Thanksgiving this year, but I am hopeful that we will have something to be thankful this year, but time will tell. . .
It has been super hot here this week so I've been scrapping so here goes. . .

And So It Begins Again. . .
Around these parts, school was supposed to start this week, and in some schools it will start, but other schools have done a pivot since Sunday. With very short notice, a couple of schools have switched from in-person learning to all virtual. I think at last count, there are 2 public schools and all parochial schools are using in-person learning. . .the remainder are all virtual. It will be interesting to see how long the in-person stands though, our positivity rate is going up with over 50 testing positive on several days and the majority of those are the 20 and younger crowd. As for me, I'm still staying home as much as I can and only venturing out for groceries and medication. And, can I just say too that next week the western heatwave is getting to my area, so when I got groceries today, I got 2-weeks worth so I might get to hang around the house a lot next week!!!
With all of that, I have been doing a little scrapping and getting ready to work on Christmas gifts so here goes. . .

Another Weeks Slips By
Time just seems to be slipping by. . .we did have a fun diversion this week though!!! We visited our daughter and two of the grandkids for a little bit. It was a 2-1/2 hour drive and we were very careful. We packed a lunch and drinks for the drive, avoided crowded places to stop, wore a mask when outside of the vehicle. But, having said that, we drove into a fairly hot spot, so we will see how the next 2 weeks go. The cases in our county are going up more and more each day and school hasn't even started yet. This week alone, two of the schools in our county have done a u-turn and are going all virtual for the first part of the year. . .originally they were offering a hybrid approach. The demographic with the highest gains in our town is the under-20 group which is disconcerting!!! I'm still only going out to the groceries, medicine and pet food. Any other trips I make are to places that are taking this seriously. I was really surprised this week though. . .I had to have blood drawn at the doctor's office and it was way more lax than the veterinarian's place was last week!!! I was shocked that neither of the receptionists were wearing masks!!! When I took the cat for her vaccines last week, I parked the car, called the office, they came out and took the kitty in, did their thing and brought her back out. I didn't have to get out of the vehicle at all!!! They take this seriously, I'm not so sure about the doctor's office!!!
I've done a little scrapping this week so here goes. . . Created using Created using Created using Created using And, that is going to do it for me this week!!! Until next time. . .

Not Any Other August
This certainly isn't any other August is it? Around here it is unseasonably mild for August - I have had the windows opened now for 2 days and I'm enjoying the air the feels more like fall than the dog days of summer!!! Then there's that whole COVID thing still going on and if I'm honest, getting worse in our area. Not to mention school!!! School starts here in another couple of weeks and the schools in our county alone are running the gambit from totally online to a choice between hybrid (part in-person and part online) or fully in-person or totally online. I'm also surprised that in our county alone, there have been 12 positive cases with children 9 and under with the vast majority of cases being under 20 years of age. I'm doing my part and staying home. . .I haven't seen one daughter and her family since before this whole thing began. She lives in one of the national hotspots.
With all the time I've had, I've done a little bit of scrapping so here goes. . .
