I don't know about you, but for me the week between Christmas and New Years is kind of a blurry haze for me. Maybe part of it is because while most folks have completed their holiday festivities, I am still in celebration mode. Our girls will come here the first weekend in January for our family Christmas. Friends ask me why we don't do a more traditional celebration and the reason is simple. . .our youngest daughter wants to spend time with her family at Christmas much the way we did when she was a child and I have total respect for that. We do get to see them during the holidays, but I have been there and I know what the gift of just time with your family means. Our other daughter always goes to her in-laws for the holidays and I'm good with that. We live so much closer to them than her in-laws do so I am very blessed in that regard. I am actually thrilled for the "other Grandma" to have the precious time with those grandkids!!! I am so happy for her I just can't describe it!!! I wouldn't take that away from them for anything!!!
This year however is different because of my broken foot. It is my driving foot and at this point I feel like I have lost my independence and that is super hard for me. I don't like bothering people when I need to go pick up something from the store, so I have to organize myself better (I'm pretty organized anyway) and I have to rely on someone to drive me. . .UGH!!!
With everything going on, and the somewhat limited time I have had at the computer this week, I don't have a lot to share, but here is my meager contribution for the week. . .

I told you it was a short list!!! And, with that I am outta here to go do some more of that holiday "thing". . .today it is cleaning!!! Until next time, have a Happy New Year!!!

December - 3rd week
Well, here it is. . .Christmas is getting closer!!! We still have snow on the ground from last weekend, but I figure with temperatures in the 40's that will disappear pretty quickly. And talk about lousy time, I took a tumble earlier this week and broke my right foot!!! Let's just say it involved Christmas cards, a Hallmark Christmas movie and a ringing telephone!!! Didn't realize I had sat there that long and my foot was totally asleep.
Got up and tumbled. . .pretty sure there was a pirouette in there by the time I landed in the dining room!!! This is going to sideline me for 6-8 weeks and significantly cut down on my "out and about" time since it is my "driving foot" this time :-) Thank goodness I had all the shopping done for the grandkids. . .the kids and husband are a completely different story though :-)
I am able to sit at the computer a little longer so I have a short list for the week. . . Created using Created using Created using Created using And, with that I am outta here to go rest my foot!!! And, since this is likely my last post until after Christmas, I hope each of you have a wonderful holiday season full of fun with family and friends!!! Make more memories!!! Until next time. . .

December Week 2
I think this week was spent recovering from last week and I'm not sure I'm fully recovered from that. This time of year is just so busy - this week my husband has been involved in putting together a Pancake And Sausage Breakfast for church, so honestly after this weekend, I am looking forward to a little down time :-) But there is a lot going on between now and let's say Tuesday!!! Breakfast, piano recital, taking the van to the dealership for a needed repair, groceries, yada, yada, yada. . .not to mention some winter weather moving in on Sunday!!! Maybe I can start singing "It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas", who knows!!! In the meantime, since the Christmas calendars and scrapbooks are now in Shutterfly's hands, I've had a more relaxed time to scrap so here goes. . .

December - Week 01
Nothing like going from one holiday to the next!!! With the time so short this year between Thanksgiving and Christmas I am feeling a tad stressed and yet it is a super busy week for me!!! In fact, the next 2 weeks are going to be brutal. . .so I sure hope my body holds up!!! I feel like I am so far behind on everything so my goals for this week is to dig out of this hole just a tad. We have a Christmas program to go to tonight and I'm looking forward to that. Then on Friday we are going to usher two performances of The Nutcracker, company comes on Saturday and we go watch The Nutcracker, then Sunday I take the company to the train station and get to go watch The Nutcracker again. Kind of excited to watch those performances too. This summer our granddaughter was invited to audition for the Ballet Company in their area and after a long audition process she was asked to join. So this will be her sixth Nutcracker but the first one as a company member!!! I am over the moon excited for her because I know the hard work that she puts into her dance.
So, in this quiet before the storm, I want to share the things I've been working on this week. . . Created using Created using Created using Created using Created using Created using And, with that I am outta here to go do some holiday "stuff"!!! Until next time. . .

Thanksgiving Friday Fatigue
well, here it is the day after Thanksgiving and the Friday Fatigue has set in!!! I spent Wednesday doing most of the prep and what early cooking I could accomplish. . .then yesterday I finished things up. But, by the time the feast rolled around, I was too tired to even eat!!! I went to bed early last night but goodness, I am tired today!!! I am all worried that I am too tired to even take advantage of the Friday digi-sales!!! Some of the family is still here but will be leaving shortly and one of the granddaughters will be staying. Her ulterior motive - avoid 4 of her brother's soccer games AND eating at her favorite local restaurant!!! She scores!!!
But, before I fall asleep again (LOL) I wanted to share a couple of pages with you. . . Created using Created using Created using Created using Created using Created using Created using And, with that I am outta here to go rest up for another super busy week ahead!!! Until next time. . .
