Well, Round One of the holiday festivities is now over. . .this part is always the hardest part of the holidays. Next weekend will be more fun. . .it will be the celebration at our house so both of my girls and their families will be here!!! I just have to clean the house, get groceries and make the food. And, other than that cleaning bit, I enjoy all the preparations!!!
And, to make things more interesting, we have had a massive amount of rain. . .as of this writing, water is completely over the street next to my house. I looked outside this morning and there were 2 deer drinking water from the street!!! Our daughter who lives about 2 hours north of us has missed a winter weather advisory by 7 miles. . .this has been some crazy weather!!!

Just Breathe
Today somehow feels like the calm before the storm. . .We have a little something-something to take care of today. That was not on my list of things to do, but it needs to get done, it just means the majority of my day will be spent procuring an item, delivering it to my MIL, installing it and then driving back home. But before we leave, I want to get some soup in the crock pot!!! We have had an extremely mild winter so far so yesterday when the temperature was in the low 30's you would have thought we were having another Polar Vortex!!! It was ssssoooo cold!!! So, I decided to make some soup to warm my bones today!!!
I still have a lot of wrapping to do. . .I think I spend way too much time trying to balance things for everyone and that mental work is driving me nuts!!! Then, I sat down last night and started working on the menu of our Christmas. Will work on that some more today. And then I have pages to upload and I need to review those Shutterfly orders to make sure they were produced correctly.

Shopping - Final Countdown
I have an appointment today and then I hope between today and tomorrow I can get the bulk of the Christmas shopping done!!! I am down to getting gift cards for folks and am on the hunt for what must be the Cabbage Patch Kid of my daughter's time!!! Back when our girls were little, those Cabbage Patch Kids were the super hot item. . .this year it seems that Easy Bake Oven is having a resurgence!!! So, in an attempt to help our daughter, I'm hunting for that along with some refills. I did find 2 super cute cookbooks for the Easy Bake Oven and I think that will be a hit!!!
You have to understand where we live, we don't have a Bed Bath and Beyond. . .our Best Buy is tiny at best and has very limited stock. We don't have a Barnes and Noble or a Michael's craft store. . .BUT we do have plenty of fish bait businesses!!! So tomorrow I may venture to a large city (OK, not really larger population wise, but larger from a retail standpoint). It is a 2-hour round trip drive and not one that I am looking forward to, but one that may be necessary!!!
So, before I get all busy in that, I wanted to post my latest round of pages. . .trying so hard to stay on top of things this time of year!!! So, here goes. . .

Mostly Sultry Monday
Here it is 2 weeks before Christmas and goodness, but it is actually HOT here!!! The temperature is 70!!! Now normally this time of year it is wintry, we would have had snow, but not this year!!! It is just absolutely CRAZY!!! Then, it is rainy and sssooo windy. . .doesn't feel like December at all!!!

Thursday Already???
Somehow I seem to have lost 2 days this week!!! Monday was spent running errands, Tuesday I had a dreaded doctor's appointment then yesterday I was just under the weather!!! Needless to say not feeling well really put a cramp in all the things I wanted to get accomplished this week. . .so today is the day to get all caught back up. Tomorrow will be spent helping my husband prepare for a fundraiser at church and I really should clean the house because our daughter and her family are coming for a short visit. Then next week I am free with the exception of yet another appointment and wouldn't you know it I forgot to enter it into my electronic calendar. . .
